Budapest and Warschau
After our gig in Budapest (which was amazing, one of the warmest crowds we've experienced) we enjoyed a well deserved day off. Budapest is a very splendid place to spend a day, mainly because of it's excellent spa's. We spent a day steaming and sweating in one of Budapest's spa's and came out like totally different people (cleaner, mainly )
You would expect a day like this would recharge you for another tourday, and for a great part it did, but it also puts you in a relaxed kind of rhythm. For me, it was a bit hard to get out of that again: during soundcheck in Poland, I was convinced that someone made all the songs 20 bpm faster. In fact, I think it was me who was 20 bpm slower the whole day
Fortunately the crowd in Warschau gave us a lot of energy! They really made our first Polish show one to remember. We're looking forward to coming back to play there!

Martijn says hi Hi, this is Martijn leaving a message too. Charly has been annoying me to write a blog for days, so here we go ?. Three more days to go. Sadly to say the Tour is almost over. We’re having a such GrEaT time, so it really goes fast. Already looking forward to the next tour lol . But first lets complete our new album. A minor detail . Today we play in the Knust venue in Hamburg. A small but cozy venue. Nice crew here. Tonight we’re gonna visit the reperbahn. The world famous red-light district in Hamburg. We also visited it last time, and we have some nice memories of that . So it’s becoming some kind of a tradition. But first a good sound check, a nice diner, and then a lot of fun on stage!!!
Our upcoming show in Hedon - Zwolle has been sold out for a while now. Fortunately, for all of you who couldn't get a ticket, or who live too far away, you'll still have a possibility to witness the entire concert. For the first time in Delain history, our concert will be broadcast on a live-stream! The venue Hedon, where we've played a lot, and always enjoy coming back to, are launching a new website with live-streaming possibilities and asked us to be the kick-off with our gig on the 25th of May. Of course we gladly agreed!
To watch the live-stream, all you have to do is tune in to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Our support Stream of Passion will start at 20.30, and our gig will start about one our later, at 21.30 Don't forget to watch on the 25th of may! 22

Delain Reveals album Details!
As Delain are finishing the songs for their upcoming album, it’s time to share the news about the long awaited record. The band is in the middle of the recording process for their currently untitled album. It will be produced by Jacob Hellner, renowed for producing Rammstein, Clawfinger and Apocalyptica, alongside the Epicentre team of Frederick Thomander and Anders Wickstrom (Scorpions, Kim Wilde, No Angels, Backyard Babies, N’Sync). Some of you eagle eyed fans might have spotted them in recent studio report photos. As always, our musical partners Guus Eikens and Oliver Phillips are also part of the team again. When Delain have finished all songs for the upcoming record they will, together with this talented team, make sure that Delain’s third offering sounds nothing less than massive. The recordings are taking place in several studios in Stockholm.
The band states: “After loads of touring activities and some turmoil with the record company, it’s great to finally be in the process of getting the album together. More so in such legendary places with people involved in such legendary records. We’ve written some killer material and these are best possible circumstances to make it come to life” You can be eyewitness to the making of Delain’s third album by following the regular updates on their studio blog. You can watch them [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Stockholm souvenirs and update on recent events
It's been a while since my latest blog. Not that I haven't been up to anything. Quite the contrary! However, the more stuff you do, the little time you have to blog about it. Basically it's been busy as hell. I'm back home from vocal recordings of the new Delain record for about a week, and in this week I've held my first presentation for my new studies (which I haven't even told you about yet! this will come ), had a masterclass drawing from Dutch tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher, prepared a wedding speech for dear friends, and worked at the Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam. At the same time, Martijn is up in Stockholm now working on key arrangements, while I'm considering album title and artwork options, and also preparing for a project with Greenpeace! And let's not forget about upcoming Dr. Sketchy's session! I'm swinging between feeling super productive and dead tired, but I'm liking it
For this blog I'd just like to share a couple of my latest Stockholm souvenirs. The last week I spent in Stockholm, the weather shifted from late summer temperatures to freezing cold overnight (I hope you're all surviving the shift of seasons without the flu!) These pictures are taken near the studio, and at the Vasa museum, which I can highly recommend if you plan on visiting the city! I ended my Stockholm adventure by taking one more trip to the opera house with my love, we saw The marriage of Figaro, which was, well, challenging, with Italian words and Swedish subtitles. Still loved it! I might go back to Stockholm one more time, does anyone have some tips on nice sightseeing around Stockholm?
I'll keep you updated on all fun projects! Love! Charlotte

Delain has set “We Are The Others” as the title of its third studio album, due next spring via Roadrunner records. The CD was recorded at various studios in Stockholm, Sweden with producer Jacob Hellner, renowned for his work with Rammstein and Apocalyptica, alongside the Epicentre team of Fredrik Thomander and Anders Wikstrom (Scorpions, Backyard Babies)
The album title was taken from a song by the same name featuring on the album. We Are The Others is an outsiders anthem, for everybody who, deliberately or not, diverts from the norm. Whether it’s by looking different, acting different, or choosing a different path in life then is expected from you. We are the others: “Forget about the norm. Take off your uniform".
In other news, Delain will embark on a European headlining tour in April with support from Trillium, the metal project masterminded by American singer/songwriter Amanda Somerville.
The dates are as follows:
Apr. 26 - GER - Hamburg - Grünspan Apr. 27 - GER - Berlin - Lido Apr. 28 - POL - Warsaw - Progresja Apr. 29 - CZE - Zlin - Masters Of Rock Cafe May 02 - HUN - Budapest - Club 202 May 03 - AUT - Wien - Arena May 04 - GER - München - Backstage May 05 - ITA - Romagnano Sesia - Rock 'n' Roll Arena May 06 - SWI - Pratteln - Z7 May 08 - GER - Köln - Gloria May 09 - BEL - Vosselaar - Biebob May 10 - GER - Karlsruhe - Substage May 11 - FRA - Paris - Alhambra May 12 - GBR - Birmingham - HMV Institute 2 May 13 - GBR - Sheffield - Corporation May 15 - GBR - Manchester - O2 Academy May 16 - GBR - London – Koko

Delain reveal album artwork and track listing We Are The Others
We are very proud to reveal the cover artwork and track listing of our third studio album We Are The Others. As you might expect from us this album again offers some interesting collaborations, both in musical and visual terms. This record features none less then Fear Factory shouter Burton C Bell as a guest singer, and visual artist Glenn Arthur provided the cover artwork. Next to the title track We Are The Others, the track listing below also reveals the song "Where Is The Blood" featuring Burton C Bell. We met Burton at the Wacken Open Air festival a year ago and stayed in touch afterwards. When we were working on "Where is The Blood" we didn't hesitate to contact him for cooperation. He's done such an amazing job on the song turning the song into a most violent duet; his exceptional, raw voice fits perfectly to this song! The cover artwork was created by Glenn Arthur, a California based visual artist whose work is inspired by art nouveau design and steampunk imagery. Charlotte is a big admirer of Glenn’s work and she dedicated multiple blogs to his art. "From the first time I saw his work I've been imagining it as cover artwork; something in the way his work is both esthetically very delicate, but always with a dark undertone, fits our music very well" For the artwork of We Are The Others, we gave Glenn the lyrics to the song as inspiration. We’re incredibly happy with how the cover turned out. For more info on Glenn Arthur, check out his facebook. We are very proud to have Burton and Glenn aboard on our album! The releasedate of We Are The Others is yet to be announced, keep checking this website for more news. The first show where we will play our brand new material live will be announced this Monday!

Delain live Reinforcement
Recently there have been some developments at the guitar department of Delain. Our band demands a huge amount of time and energy from our band members. Since our guitar player Timo has a lot of musical activities besides Delain, we want to give him the time and space to pursue this as well. Until now that was not possible, but recently we received a huge reinforcement in the band. Guitarist Bas Maas is joining in our group to relief Timo for some shows this year. Some of you may know Bas from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] or his previous band After Forever. We want to give Bas a warm welcome in Delain. He will join us at our [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and a couple shows this spring. See you all on the road!
