| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Lunatica has been brought to life in winter 1998. The first songs, written by Alex and Sandro, have built the foundation of this band. After a long search for a lead singer, in 2000 the band found Andrea. With her beautiful voice, she has given something special to the songs and she immediately recorded the lead vocals for the debut album "Atlantis". "Atlantis" has been very successful and Lunatica was booked for many concerts and festivals. Playing at Metaldayz festival (the biggest metal open air festival in Switzerland) Lunatica was elected "best newcomer band" and gained a lot of new fans. For the second album "Fables & Dreams" the band worked together with the successful producer Sascha Paeth. He is known for productions as Rhapsody, Kamelot, Angra, After Forever, Edguy and Heavens Gate. Sascha Paeth created the powerful production Lunatica desired. The songs are better developed and the band had more time to compose and arrange them, something you can't ignore in comparison to "Atlantis". " Fables & Dreams" hit the streets in Switzerland in February 2004 and entered directly # 13 of the Swiss internet charts. The Italian label FRONTIERS RECORDS (a.o. TOTO etc.) released the album world wide in September 2004. The reactions in the press and the audience were tremendous, and in the first week of its release, Fables & Dreams entered # 12 of the Japanese HMV-sales charts.Their following European tour during April & May of 2005 (Germany, Belgium, France and Switzerland) was just as successful as their numerous appearances on open-air stages in Switzerland, including a headlining performance at the well known Night Of Rock Festival in Austria in front of more than 1.000 fans. In 2006 Lunatica released the long awaited successor "The Edge Of Infinity". Again, the well acclaimed team of producers Sascha Paeth and Miro (KAMELOT, RHAPSODY, ANGRA etc.) is responsible for the quality of the new recordings, just as they were on LUNATICA‘S last effort Fables & Dreams, already. This album gained also only positive reactions from fans and press all over the world. Lunatica had found their own style and developed it consequently with their third album. This fact has been appreciated and the album got directly into the Swiss album charts. The single "Who You Are" got a lot of airplay and became a real earwig. Countless live gigs in and outside Switzerland followed the release. The band got also more and more known by various appearances in Swiss radio and television. In Japan they could even surpass their success with "Fables & Dreams". The new album entered this time # 8 of the Japanese HMV-sales charts.Despite their busy schedule, the guys from Lunatica still kept on working on some great new material. Then there was a change in the line-up. Guitar player André Leuenberger left the band for personal reasons. But Zoltan Daraban was the perfect equivalent. By changing the record company and signing to Napalm Records, Lunatica made another step ahead. They were now ready for a new album. According to the device "Never change a winning team!", Lunatica left Switzerland in August 2008 to start the recordings of the new album in Wolfsburg. The guys have created a masterpiece called "New Shores". "New Shores" was released by Napalm Records in February 2009…. Luantica.ch | |
